Progressive lens with a unique gene

As genetic material, Ingenious progressive design contains unique information to produce a fully personalized progressive lens.

Ingenious is a fully personalized progressive lens design, which takes advantage of unique ClearView technology to optimize the progression distribution according to the real frame shape and thereby significantly reduce the amount of blurriness.

Benefits for the user

  • Wide fields of vision: wide far, intermediate and near field of vision.
  • Sharp vision at all distances: unwanted astigmatism reduction thanks to ClearView patented technology.
  • Personalized lens: superb sharpness and precision in all gaze directions thanks to OptiMesh.
  • Adapted to the digital world: comfortable position when using handheld devices thanks to Digital Profile technology.
  • Aesthetics and lightness to the max: maximum reduction of thickness of positive lenses.
  • Optimized near vision: reading zone correctly aligned thanks to the optimized inset.

Target

Demanded patients of personalized lenses looking for the best performance in any environment even using handheld devices.

ClearView

Aberrations are intrinsic features in a progressive surface; a dioptric power always has a certain amount of aberrations. They are perceived as blurriness by the user, producing discomfort and sometimes dizziness. Horizons Optical has developed a unique technology which reduces the unwanted astigmatism to the lowest possible. This disruptive technology represents the best and authentic method to optimize lens properties to the real frame shape by pushing an important amount of blurriness out of the lens.

  • Unparalleled visual fields.
  • Aberration minimization.
  • Swim effect minimization.
  • Allows a more comfortable and ergonomic position.
  • Maximum visual acuity and comfort.
ThinMax

ThinMax patented technology allows to make changes in the curvature of the lens to overcome common manufacturing limitations and achieve a fully optimized lens, according to real frame.

  • Minimum thickness guaranteed.
  • Wider power range offering.
  • Frame shape always centered, positive for gradient color lenses.
  • Avoids knife-edge enlarging the productivity of the polishing pads.
  • Wow effect for opticians and consumers.
Optimesh

Each lens is held by the frame in a different position, this is known as the position of wear or position of use, which affects human vision generating aberrations that are responsible for a drop in the visual acuity. Horizons Optical has developed Optimesh technology to allow consumers to get lenses calculated and optimized for the real position of wear by considering 6 parameters (BVD, IPD, NOD, PANTO, SEGDHT & ZTILT).

It is important to provide the control prescription on the envelope.

  • Improvement of optics no matter the frame or prescription.
  • Natural vision with the highest visual acuity.
  • Greater lateral field of vision compared to standard progressive.
Digital Profile

Since many years almost everyone uses handheld devices, there is not just a percentage of the population, the use of these devices is nowadays generic. Digital Profile optimizes the lens progression modifying the corridor configuration and design, to offer comfort and sharp vision for using digital devices.

  • Comfortable posture while using digital devices.
  • Greater vertical area with hundred per cent addition.
  • Easy transition between near and far vision.
  • Comfort while reading.
Inset

The inset is the off-centring that appears in the near zone of a progressive lens. The inset is caused by the convergence of our eyes when looking at near objects.

The optimum inset is always calculated for every user to improve binocular vision particularly in near and increasing field of clear vision. Variable inset has a range value from 0 mm to 4 mm in steps of 0.01 mm. Ask about fixed inset option (value 2.5 mm).

Corridor

Horizons offers a corridor range between 14 mm to 20 mm. For larger values of the fitting height, corridor will be 20 mm. There are two automated corridor options available: (1) if no corridor is provided, the longest corridor possible will be assigned; (2) if ErgoPath technology is activated and no corridor is provided, the ergonomic (the optimum) corridor will be provided.

How Horizons understands corridor: it is measured from the fitting cross until the bottom of the near zone circle which is 2 mm below the NRP matching with the minimum fitting height, ensuring a near circle of 4 mm diameter. That means a corridor of 18 mm will fit into a fitting height of 18 mm. If no corridor is provided, fitting height value will be taken and vice versa. Ask about fixed corridor option. CORRLEN label means corridor length and SEGHT label means fitting height to Frame Box.

Configuration
  • Addition: from 0.75 D to 4.00 D, in steps of 0.25 D (addition measured by the concave).
  • Diameter: up to 105 mm. Exact range values will depend on the selection of semifinished pieces.
  • Variable inset: 0 mm to 4 mm in steps of 0.01 mm.
  • Corridor: 14 mm to 20 mm.
  • Pad printing: all Horizons designs have fitting cross to PRP 4 mm and distance reference point to PRP 8 mm. Other values can be configured.
Order data
  • If no data is provided default values will be applied. (*) mandatory parameter; (**) mandatory when there is a TRCFMT or HBOX & VBOX.
  • Pupillary distances – IPD/NPD (*)
  • Fitting height to Frame Box (SEGHT) / Fitting height to Frame Shape (SEGDHT) (*) – minimum 14 mm

  • Vertex distance – BVD
  • Frame shape – TRCFMT (*)
  • Frame measurements – HBOX, VBOX
  • Distance between lenses – DBL (**)
  • Pantoscopic angle (PANTO): range −5º to 25º, default 10º
